How to Identify Candle Additives

Kemamide
Kemamide is a fine powder with a slight ivory tinge. It is a bit slippery if you rub some of it between your finger and thumb. It compresses and can become clumpy with humidity.
Kemamide is used as a release agent. Add 1 tsp. per pound of wax.

Poly-AC
Poly-AC is a fine white powder. It feels dry to the touch. It does not compress but may clump with humidity.
Poly-AC is used as a hardener. Add 1 tsp. per pound of wax.

Chimasorb 81
Chimasorb 81 is a fine yellowish crystalline powder. It does not compress and forms large clumps from humidity.
Chimasorb 81 is a UV inhibitor. Use 1/10 of 1%.

Stearic Powder
Stearic powder is a white flaky powder. Large flakes break up into small flakes and light powder. Does not compress, barely clumps in humidity.
Stearic powder is a hardener. Use 1% to 100%

103 Vybar
103 Vybar is a small milky pastille, or beads. The average bead is droplet shaped with a flat surface on one side. The beads are loose and tend not to clump or stick together.

Paraflint
Paraflint is a milky pastille or beads. The drop like beads are very small and relatively uniform in shape and size. Does not compress or clump.

Poly 400
Poly 400 is a clear/frosty pastille or beads. The beads are rough droplets that vary in size and shape.

BHT Crystal
BHT Crystal is a yellowish powder made up of fine irregular granules. It does not compress and barely clumps with humidity.
BHT Crystal is used as an antioxidant when wax is stored in liquid form for a long time. Use 1/10 of 1%.
